A primeira quinzena de julho começa muito animada em Marco de Canaveses.
Esta região peculiar que apesar de estar muito próxima ao Douro, pertence à região dos Vinhos Verdes, promove em 06 e 07.07 o Mercado Romano em Tongobriga.
De 11 a 15 de julho acontecem as Festas do Marco de Canaveses com 5 dias de animação musical e o concurso “Marco a Cantar – Jovens Talentos da Canção”. Durante este período, o mais famoso prato regional, o anho (cordeiro) assado com arroz de forno será promovido nos restaurantes locais. Também haverá uma feira de petiscos e vinhos da região, especialmente os elaborados com as castas Arinto e Avesso.

A transumância é uma tradição em várias partes do mundo e é a mais emocionantes amostra da secular integração entre homem, rebanho e natureza.
No dia 30.06 sábado, a subida dos rebanhos de cabras e ovelhas à Serra da Estrela, em busca de melhores pastos durante o verão, é celebrada com festa pois trata-se de uma prática ainda muito enraizada na comunidade pastoril de Seia.
A viagem tem início pelas 07h30, no Largo da Câmara, no centro da cidade de Seia, onde o gado proveniente das aldeias (Santa Comba, Folgosa e Maceira) se concentra. As ovelhas atravessam a cidade em direção à montanha, prosseguindo pelos tradicionais caminhos da transumância, em direção à aldeia dos pastores, o Sabugueiro.
Além de permitir que qualquer participante “seja pastor por um dia”, a Festa da Transumância e dos Pastores haverá barracas com a típica merenda do Alforge, um almoço com os pastores e um programa de animação.
No entando as estrelas deste festival, além dos pastores, é claro, são as ovelhas que neste dia não apenas ostentam naquele momento seus maiores e melhores chocalhos e são enfeitadas com o que os pastores chamam de “peras e cabeçadas” (ver foto).

Transhumance is a tradition in various parts of the world and it is the most exciting sample of the secular integration between man, herd and nature.
On June 30th, Saturday, goats and sheep climb Serra da Estrela, in search of better pastures during the summer, and the occasio is celebrated with a party as it is a practice still very much rooted in the pastoral community of Seia.
The trip begins at 07:30 in Largo da Câmara, in the center of the city of Seia, where herds coming from rural areas (Santa Comba, Folgosa and Maceira) are concentrated. They cross the town towards the mountain, following the traditional paths of transhumance, towards the shepherd’s village, Sabugueiro.
In addition to allowing any participant to “be a pastor for a day,” the Feast of Transhumance and Pastors will have tents with typical Alforge lunch, a lunch with pastors and an entertainment program.
However, the stars of this festival, besides the shepherds, of course, are the sheep that on this day not only sport their biggest and best rattles but are also adorned with what the shepherds call “peras and cabeçadas” (see picture).

The Cherry Festival in Alcongosta, Fundão.
Red, juicy and appetizing, the cherries invite everyone to the party!
In the mountain village of Alcongosta, the precious rubies are produced with color and flavor to this festival full of excitement, gastronomy and crafts.
Delights include cherry liqueur, cherry sangria, cherry bread and even cherry cream pastries!
O evento ‘Beijo sem Fim’, baseado na Lenda do Beijo Eterno na romântica aldeia histórica de Sortelha. Sortelha está a 2:30 de carro da cidade do Porto.
Diz a lenda que, certa noite, uma hoste de mouros cercou a fortaleza de Sortelha, para recuperar aquele ponto estratégico. No castelo, encontravam-se o alcaide, que resistia com os seus homens de armas, a mulher do alcaide, que diziam ser uma feiticeira, bem como sua filha, uma donzela formosa, que não queria saber nada de feitiços nem de guerras.
O cerco já durava muito tempo e a garota matava o tempo pelas as muralhas da fortaleza. No seu quarto apenas tinha a companhia de um gato. Para se distrair, ía até à varanda, nas muralhas, pois dali via os mouros.

Um dia, despertou-lhe a atenção certo cavaleiro. Era o jovem comandante das tropas mouras. Um jovem guerreiro de porte nobre, altivo e belo.
“Que lindo!”, pensou ela, seguindo-o com os olhos.
Ele também a viu e a beleza da jovem cristã capturou a atenção do guerreiro mouro.
“Que Linda!”, pensou ele, tentando ver entre as muralhas.
Não sei como dava para ver alguem desta distância….
A partir daquele momento, nem um nem o outro deixou de pensar em encontrar-se, ainda que fosse uma só vez na vida. O mouro conseguiu que alguns dos seus homens mandassem cestos até o topo das muralhas com mensagens e presentes para a bela moça. E esta, por sua vez, enviava algo para que ele soubesse que era correspondido.
No desespero de encontrar-se com a donzela, o guerreiro mouro arquitetou um plano: prometeu a liberdade a um prisioneiro cristão, dando-lhe uma recheada bolsa com moedas de ouro, com a seguinte condição: “Falarás a sós com a donzela e abrir-lhe-ás a porta.” O ex-refém assim fez e ela, aproveitando a escuridão, saiu do castelo.
E por aqui escapou a donzela fujona.
Mas a mãe da jovem percebeu que algo se passava e procurando pela filha, viu que os amantes estavam junto às muralhas e se beijavam. Tomada pela raiva, lançou um feitiço: “Malditos ! Eu vos amaldiçoo e vos transformo em pedra !”
Assim, os dois, conforme estavam abraçados, lábios com lábios, ficaram petrificados. E assim permaneceram, para sempre, num beijo eterno ao luar das muralhas de Sortelha.
Pois assim, partindo da tema romantismo, serão revisitadas as tradições de namoro e casamento, sob a forma de visitas encenadas e exposição fotográfica.

The event ‘Beijo sem Fim’, based on the Legend of the Eternal Kiss in the romantic historic village of Sortelha. Sortelha is 2:30 car drive from Porto.
Legend has it that one night a host of Moors surrounded the fortress of Sortelha to recover that strategic point. In the castle were the warden, who resisted with his men in arms, the warden’s wife, who they claimed was a sorceress, as well as his daughter, a beautiful maiden, who wanted nothing to do with spells or wars.
The siege had lasted a long time, and the girl was killing time by the walls of the fortress. In her room she only had the company of a cat. To entertain herself, she went to the walls and from there she could see the Moors.
If these walls could talk…
One day, a certain knight called her attention. He was the young commander of the Moorish troops. A young warrior of noble bearing, haughty and handsome.
“How handsome!” She thought, following him with her eyes. He also saw her and the beauty of the young Christian captured the attention of the Moorish warrior.
“How beautiful!” He thought, trying to see her better between the walls.
I have no idea how they managed to see each other from this distance.
From that moment, neither one nor the other could stop thinking about meeting, even if it were only once in their life. The Moor managed to have some of his men send baskets to the top of the walls with messages and gifts for the beautiful girl. And in turn, she sent gifts so that he knew that his feelings were reciprocated.
In the desperation to meet the maiden, the Moorish warrior developed a plan: he promised freedom to a Christian prisoner, giving him a purse full of gold coins, with the following condition: “You will speak alone with the maiden and open the doors for her”. The ex-hostage did it, and she, taking advantage of the darkness, left the castle.
The distressed damsel scaped through this door.
But the girl’s mother realized something was happening and looking for her daughter, she saw that the lovers were kissing by the walls. Taken with anger, she cast a spell: “Damn! I curse you and turn you into stone! ”
So the two, as they were embraced, lips with lips, were petrified. And thus they remained, forever, in an eternal kiss under the moonlight of the walls of Sortelha.
Starting from the theme romanticism, the traditions of dating and marriage will be revisited in the form of staged visits and photographic exhibition.
